What Is It Actually Good At?
Not everything. A short, specific list — and that is fine.
A quantum computer is not a faster laptop. It is more like a special tool that is brilliant at a few jobs and useless at most others. Knowing which is which is the real skill.
- Great at: finding hidden patterns, and pretending to be molecules so chemists can watch them.
- Useless at: your email, your games, your homework. A laptop is better and always will be.
- It will not make everything faster. Anyone who says it will is selling something.
- The good jobs are ones where the wrong answers can be made to cancel. That is the test.
